Throughout the year the Chicago Woodturners sponsor all-day demonstrations by nationally and internationally known woodturners. These demos are open to CWT members and the public at a nominal cost of $25 dollars. Our members call them Saturday demos, but the demonstration can be either on a Saturday or Sunday, usually from 9:30 AM to 4 - 4:30 PM. Come join in-- you'll have fun and maybe learn something new!
What can you expect from these demonstrations? How about a whole day packed with step-by-step turning demonstrations, tools, techniques, and how-to tips.all delivered by world-class woodturners. And if that's not enough, the club provides free coffee and donuts!
What are the classes? In addition to the demonstrations, many of our guest turners conduct one- or two-day hands-on classes. These classes are limited to approximately 6 students, and allow a lot of close one-on-one interaction. This is an excellent way for turners to add to their skillset and learn from some of the best wood artists around. Unless otherwise indicated, classes are held at Woodcraft Supply. Registration for 2007 began on December 15, with class spots filled on a first come, first served basis. Most classes filled up that day (note for 2008 - sign up early!) Email or call Jan Shotola to make your reservation. A $50.00 deposit is required to hold a class spot, and checks can be mailed after you have registered. Contact Jan at: 847-412-9781 or p.shotola@comcast.net. Checks can be mailed to: 1865 Western Ave., Northbrook, IL 60062.
Unless otherwise noted, a ll demonstrations are held at WoodCraft Supply, 1280 East Dundee Road, Palatine, IL
