Rich is a retired teacher with over 34 years of
woodworking/metalworking experience. He retired in 2001 from the Applied
Technology Department in one of the areas largest high school districts.
Since retirement, he has become a full time studio wood turner who
likes to think "out of the bowl" with his work. His signature prairie
grass vases tend to be very rustic, gnarly, bark included pieces made
from timbers most turners would not use. He is a product of study from
several of the featured turners on the symposium program and has skillfully
applied his knowledge to the joy of his many customers throughout the
Midwest!
